About:

This blog is predominately about camera trapping in California. We camera trap to save our souls and to teach primary school students about biology and conservation. We will also touch on other camera trapping news and musings, sets from afar, mediocre herpetology, sucky birding, and other natural history discussions.

Mammalian Critters

Like I said not a great set, but pickings have been slim. That whole graduate school thing getting in the way of fun.

I just cannot seem to get the bobcats to look at the camera right now.  Going to have to try a new approach.

  1. Thanks for sharing these! I love the image quality on the S600 cameras. Such rich color. And I appreciate your experience with the bobcats, there is just something about trail cameras that encourages bobcats to look the other way, like opposing magnets!

  2. Any other photos of the bobby to determine sex?

And yeah, the S600 images are just consistently rich. I'm looking forward to finally deploying mine for a couple experiments in the coming weeks...

  3. No other bobcat images but the butt shot lacks any testicles so it might be a female, or might be a male just not showing us enough.
