Excess nutrients threaten Elkhorn Slough ecosystem, the senior author is a friend of CTC.

Once in 100 or so Blue Moons.  First short-tailed albatross on the Farallon Islands in 124 years! I love the lab notebook sketch that was scanned and put into the blog post. Also, check out Pete at Midway, who took the above photo, for news on short-tailed albatross and more at Midway Atoll.

Mange in bobcats and coyotes may be coming from the ingestion of poisoned rodents. Not sure if this is what might be happening with Don Coyote or not.  The bordering agriculture lands may be poisoning, but obviously not in the reserve. h/t Bay Laurel.
